HEALTHY CONGREGATIONS DEVELOP GENEROUS PEOPLE:  Section A, Sessions 1, 2, 3 will be held on Thursday, October 16, 23, 30 in the

Antioch Room.  Section B, Sessions 1, 2 will be held on Monday evenings, October 27 and November 3 in the Antioch Room from 7pm-9:30pm.  Please sign up on the Hot Pink sign up poster in the narthex or email sandy@kog-arvada.org. Cost is $10.00 total.

MISSIONARY SUPPORT THIS WEEK is provided by Vern and Lois Kotrc in honor of Brandi Kotrc and Charles Clare’s wedding and by The Williams’ family in honor of Wendy’s Birthday.

 

FLOWERS THIS WEEK are provided by Jean Pyle in honor of Bob.

 

THE GATHERING PLACE will be serving lunch on Monday, October 20.  the menu is chili with meat, fresh vegetables, cornbread, seasonal fruit, brownies, and milk.  Please look for the sign-up sheet in the narthex and indicate how you are willing to help.  Thank you!

 

ADULT FORUM:  Please attend the Adult Forum today in the Antioch Room to view Part II  of Diana Butler Bass’ video.  Next week there will be a Temple Talk after the announcements and a presentation from Lutheran Family Services.

 

TRICK OR TREAT STREET:  Sunday October 26, 4-6:30pm in the education wing with games in the Parish Hall.  Entrance fee:  one canned food item for the Arvada Food Bank.

 

KOG SPAGHETTI DINNER:  Please plan to attend a spaghetti dinner on October 17th in the Parish Hall which will be a fundraiser hosted by the youth who are going to New Orleans, July of 2009.  We will be showing slides of what they will be doing there.  The Flamingos have arrived and will be landing in a yard in your neighborhood soon unless you purchase insurance.  Free will offering will be going to help the youth with their trip expenses.  Both of these are Thrivent matching funds events!

 

PASTOR CAROL will be out of the office on October 13-15 attending a continuing education course on Healthy Congregations.

 

WELCOME JIM SANDVIK participating in the baptism of his great grand daughter, Talia Marie Thaemert.

JEFFCO ACTION CENTER:  "Did you know that Jeffco Action Center (JAC) distributes about 2 tons of food per day to help families in need in Jefferson County?  In celebration of 40 years of service in the community, JAC is collecting 40 tons of food.  We at King of Glory can help in that effort by bringing non-perishable food items Sunday, October 19, or Sunday, October 26.  We'll see the items are delivered to JAC.  Thank you!"

EVERCARE HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE:  Volunteer to share your talents and skills with hospice patients and their families.  Volunteers are fundamental to the hospice concept and are a vital part of the team.  Hospice volunteers are ordinary people contributing their time and talents at an extraordinary time of life, working with people with life-limiting illness who have 6 months or less to live.  Next training series is on Saturday November 1, 9am-4pm, Tuesday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 11 6:30 to 9:30pm.  Broomfield Skilled Nursing, 129th and Sheridan.  For more infrmation, contact:  Lynette Reiling, Volunteer Coordinator.  3603.714.2376 or lynette_reiling@uhc.com.
